Coca-Cola Bottlers Japan Holdings Inc. (CCBJH) has endorsed the Valuable 500, a global initiative dedicated to empowering people with disabilities, and has officially joined the initiative.
Launched at the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting (Davos Conference) in January 2019, the Valuable 500 seeks business leaders to drive change that unlocks the potential of people with disabilities in society, business, and the economy. More than 500 companies and partners have joined the initiative.
Katy Talikowska, CEO of the Valuable 500, commented on CCBJH's joining: "Valuable 500 is not just about commitments; it's a catalyst for action and accountability. We're excited to welcome Coca-Cola Bottlers Japan Holdings Inc. as they join our global movement, engaging in Synchronised Collective Action to dismantle barriers and end disability exclusion once and for all. By working together, we're demonstrating that inclusion isn't just the right thing to do - it's a business imperative and a transformative force for growth, innovation, and success."
CCBJH aims to provide a working environment where people with disabilities can demonstrate their strengths and thrive. In 2019, a CCBJH group company was certified as a special subsidiary. This subsidiary offers diverse job opportunities, including laundry services, office work, and equipment cleaning, allowing employees to contribute based on their individual characteristics and abilities. To further expand opportunities for people with disabilities, CCBJH launched Team “Uni-Lab”
in 2024. At “Uni-Lab”, employees are assigned tasks that align with their strengths, experience, and expertise, with a focus PC-based work. Tasks are carried out collaboratively as a team.
CCBJH also supports the active participation of people with disabilities by employing para and deaf athletes. These athletes contribute in various ways beyond their sports careers, including administrative roles and educational initiatives. Drawing on their experiences, they lead Future Co-Creation Classes, providing lectures and barrier-free sports experiences at schools and organizations to promote disability awareness.
CCBJH is committed to fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion (DE&I) as a core business priority. In order to realize its corporate mission to "deliver happy moments to everyone while creating value", CCBJH actively promotes DE&I and gender equality. In addition, by creating an inclusive environment where all employees can realise their full potential, CCBJH is accelerating the strengthening of human capital, a key initiative of its strategic business plan Vision 2028.
By joining the Valuable 500, CCBJH reaffirms its commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace. Its employees—who differ in age, race, nationality, ability, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, expression, and work style— will continue to respect one another's differences and engage in constructive dialogue. As CCBJH upholds high-quality standards, it remains dedicated to providing safe, reliable products and services that meet the needs of its customers, consumers, shareholders, and local communities. CCBJH also aims to create a virtuous cycle for society as a whole by providing value to various stakeholders through its business activities.

Creating an inclusive environment
We recognize that strengthening human capital is vital to reinforcing our business foundation and achieving sustainable growth. Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DE&I) is a key theme closely tied to the focus areas of our new people strategy, enhancing our people, culture, and organization. Through our integration and consolidation processes, we have brought together people and cultures representing a multitude of values. We see the diversity of each and every employee as a critical asset. To leverage this diversity as a strength, we are focused on creating an inclusive environment where all employees can fully express their potential, regardless of differences. Our efforts include increasing the ratio of female managers, encouraging more male employees to take childcare leave, and addressing the gender pay gap.
Mixture of colorful values and ideas.
Our mission is to "Deliver happy moments to everyone while creating value." To achieve this mission, we prioritize— above all else— ensuring that each employee works happily in a culture that is fair. The driving force for creating new value is the mixture of colorful values and ideas, woven together by our personnel with differences in age, race, nationality, disability, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, and work style.
We will continue to be a company that connects with our customers and society in our own way, with diverse personalities working together.
Para-athletes and deaf athletes
We recruit para-athletes and deaf athletes to support the endeavors of people with disabilities. In addition to pursuing both sports and professional careers, these athletes contribute widely to the community by working with us to provide disability awareness classes and barrier-free sports experiences, fostering a shared future.
Employment of people with disabilities
In 2019, one of our group companies was certified as a special purpose subsidiary, to create a work environment where individuals with disabilities can demonstrate their strengths. The subsidiary offers a variety of work positions, including laundry, administrative, and equipment parts washing to allow each person to demonstrate their unique qualities and abilities.
