Coca-Cola Bottlers Japan Holdings Adopts TNFD Recommendations

Coca-Cola Bottlers Japan Holdings Inc. has become a registered adopter of the Taskforce on Nature-Related Financial Disclosures (TNFD)(Note 1), promoting information disclosure aligned with the final TNFD Recommendations v1.0, published September 2023. 

The environmental policy of the CCBJH Group highlights our commitment to utilizing water and other natural resources effectively, recognizing their importance to both our business and their sustainable management for future generations. As a company that uses water for its business, safeguarding ecosystems such as forests, grasslands, and water sources is essential. In December 2022 we became members of the TNFD Forum and have since strengthened our efforts to conserve biodiversity. Our non-financial CSV Goals prioritize efficient resource utilization, waste reduction, and replenishment. Based on these objectives, we actively work to conserve and replenish water as well as sustain biodiversity in priority areas. We have entered into agreements with local forestry cooperatives in every water source area of our 17 bottling plants. We conduct activities to preserve the environmental benefits of forests to the fullest and protect biodiversity for years to come.

As a TNFD adopter, we will promote our efforts in accordance with the TNFD Recommendations and strive to expand the disclosure of information.

(Note 1) Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD)
A taskforce to appropriately assess risks and opportunities related to natural capital and biodiversity. By encouraging financial institutions and companies to disclose their information, the TNFD promotes the development of a disclosure framework for nature-related risks in order to shift the flow of funds to Nature Positive, the global goal of halting the decline of biodiversity and moving toward recovery by 2030.

(Note 2) TNFD adopter
A company or organization that has registered its intention to work on the information disclosure aligned with the TNFD Recommendations. Registered companies are required to disclose information in accordance with the TNFD Recommendations for either fiscal year 2024 or 2025. Companies registered by January 10, 2024 were announced as TNFD Early Adopters at the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting (Davos Meeting).
